Kate Veidreyaki, MSci (Sport Science)

Kate was a National level swimmer in Australia and a full swimming scholarship holder at the University of Alabama, USA. Kate obtained her Bachelor of Science in Education (Human Performance) degree from Alabama and returned to Australia to work at Monash University where she established the Athlete Support Program. Kate then took the post of Fitness Center Manager at Monash, before obtaining another full scholarship to the University of Memphis as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach while studying a Masters in Sport Science.
From there, Kate was successful in obtaining a job at the Malaysian Institute of Sport as a Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach and continued her Masters studies at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia. Kate trained Olympic level swimmers and cyclists, with eight of her athletes competing at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Post Beijing, Kate was promoted to the role of High Performance Manager of the Malaysian Olympic Cycling team where she coordinated all aspects of the National Cycling Program both in Malaysia and at their elite training base in Melbourne. The cyclists went on to win numerous Asian Championships, World Cups, Commonwealth and Asian Games medals as well at the country's first World Championships podium finishes.
Kate then moved on to take the position of Athlete Performance Manager at High Performance Sport New Zealand, working in the overall high performance running of the organization.
In October 2011, Optimal Performance Solutions evolved. Given Kate's combined experience as an athlete in Australia and in several countries top sporting programs, she has the perfect skill set to be able to provide the highest level of advice and support to athletes, coaches, teams and sporting organizations in assisting them achieve their goals. Her knowledge both as a student-athlete and staff member in the US College system also allows her to provide different perspectives and advice on the process of becoming an NCAA student-athlete.

Ken Wallis, MEd, BA (Hons)
OPS Consultant, Organisational Performance and Development
Ken has many years’ experience in organisational development and performance, working in a wide variety of organisations including the private sector, all levels of education and all three tiers of government. Ken’s broad experience in sport ranges from competing and coaching at national level through to working at the Australian Sports Commission in developing and implementing a national strategy for the sport and recreation industry’s improvement and development.
In working with OPS clients, Ken is a key partner in evaluating, analysing and improving the performance of sporting organisations and associations of any size. In particular Ken’s focus is on performance management, attraction and retention strategies, induction and talent development practices and the transfer and management of organisations’ knowledge.
